Indian attacks, explosions, stampedes and gun battles punctuate this well-acted 12 chapter serial from 1932. John Blaine (William Desmond) has the government contract to build a section of the first railroad across the western plains, but delays and cost overruns are plaguing the job. Blaine brings in Tom Crosby, ace engineer, to oversee the construction and put the work back on track. Unknown to Blaine and Crosby, a competing company has planted saboteurs in the Blaine construction crew, determined to make Blaine lose his contract. Meanwhile, "hostile Indians" as well as the acts of sabotage are a constant threat not only to the crew, but to Blaine's brave son Noah (Noah Beery, Jr.) and plucky daughter Ann (Diane Duval).
